Diego Martínez Colino

Diego is a partner in the Corporate and M&A practice at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo.

He has extensive experience in investment and divestment transactions related to energy and infrastructure, having advised both national and international top-tier clients on a recurring basis. He has been involved in a significant number of the transactional processes carried out in these sectors in recent years, although his scope of activity also includes M&A transactions in other sectors, corporate law and international trade.

He holds a degree in Law from the University of Oviedo, a master’s degree in Business Law from the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Oviedo and a master’s degree in Corporate Legal Consultancy from both the IE University. In addition, he has completed a postgraduate course in International Trade Management at ESIC Business & Marketing School and has held the position of International Trade Officer at the Economic and Commercial Office of the Spanish Embassy in Shanghai.

He did a secondment in the energy group E.on Renovables, as external advisor in the reorganisation of its national business and another secondment in Nike European Operations Netherlands, integrated in its corporate legal department.

Diego is the author of several market studies published by ICEX and related to the services sector in the People’s Republic of China, especially in the logistics and e-commerce sectors, and has participated as author or coauthor in several specialised legal publications.
