Gómez-Acebo & Pombo received the award for Best Law Firm in Sustainable Transformation at the Expansión Jurídico Awards

Gómez-Acebo & Pombo has received at the tenth edition of the Expansión Jurídico Awards, the Best Law Firm in Sustainable Transformation award for the second year in a row.

On Thursday 19 June, the 10th edition of the Expansión Jurídico Awards for Excellence in the Practice of Law in Business took place, where Gómez-Acebo & Pombo received the award for Best Law Firm in Sustainable Transformation.

Squeeze-out of minority shareholders following successful mandatory takeover bid: rebuttable presumption of fair consideration
The Court of Justice of the European Union (Fifth Chamber), in its judgment of 27 November 2025 (Case C-567/24, Svema Trade), concerning the equitable price in a squeeze-out requiring minority shareholders to sell their shares to an offeror who, following a mandatory takeover bid, has acquired more than 90% of the capital carrying voting rights in the company subject of the takeover bid, states that the presumption that the price offered in the bid, in the context of such a squeeze-out of holders of securities, is equitable is rebuttable.

Interruption of limitation period in respect of non-sued (eventually jointly and severally liable) co-debtors (Supreme Court Judgment no. 1496/2025 of 27 October 2025)
The Supreme Court holds that mere knowledge that the limitation period has been interrupted in relation to another eventual joint and several co-debtor is equivalent to interruption. This doctrine will not be justified in most cases.
