Juan Ignacio Romero

Juan Ignacio is a counsel in the Public Law and Regulated Sectors practice at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo.

He is a member of the Corps of State Lawyers. He was awarded the Second Class Distinguished Cross of the Order of San Raimundo de Peñafort. State Attorney in Zamora, León, Valladolid and Madrid, as well as in the Ministries of the Interior and Public Works. State Lawyer coordinating the legal assistance of the State Company Services and Studies for Air Navigation and Aeronautical Safety, and of the State Entity Penitentiary Work and Training for Employment. He has been a Trustee of the State Foundation for Training in Employment, a Member of the Higher Council of Statistics, and of the General Mutual Society of Civil Servants of the State. In the field of public management and direction, he was Director General of Coordination of the Peripheral Administration of the State, and Director General of Coordination of Competences with the Autonomous Communities and local entities, in both cases in the Ministry of Finance and Public Administrations; as well as Secretary General of Territorial Coordination, in the Ministry of the Presidency and for Territorial Administrations.

Juan holds a Law degree from the CEU San Pablo University of Madrid and Diploma in National Defence, XXXVIII promotion by the Centre for National Defence Studies (CESEDEN).

He has participated as author in various specialised legal publications.
