GA_P advises the syndicate of lenders on the refinancing of the Mula solar photovoltaic project

Gómez-Acebo & Pombo has advised the financing entities on the granting of financing to Qualitas Energy, owner of a photovoltaic plant located in Mula (Murcia) in order to refinance the existing debt of the Project, amounting to approximately 280 million euros.
The solar PV plant, owned by Qualitas Energy and Northleaf Capital Partners and with an installed capacity of approximately 494 MWp, is one of the largest in Europe. The refinancing of existing debt has been closed with BBVA, EDC, DekaBank, Unicaja and Bankinter. In addition, the Loan Market Association has rated this loan as “green” according to its environmental sustainability values.
The GA_P team advising on the transaction was formed by: Verónica Romaní and Vanessa Armas, partner and of counsel, together with associates Iñigo González de Echávarri, José Francisco Canalejas and María Gabilondo, all of them from the Banking and Finance area.

Payment service providers’ rectification of unauthorised or incorrectly executed payment transactions: user obligations
The Court of Justice of the European Union (Fourth Chamber), in its judgment of 1 August 2025, case C-665/23, IL v. Veracash SAS, concludes that a payer is deprived of the right to reimbursement of the amount of an unauthorised transaction if he or she delayed in notifying his or her payment service provider of the unauthorised payment transaction, even though he or she did so within 13 months from the debit date. This interpretation of the Payment Services Directive is applicable in Spain (Art. 43 RDL 19/2018) and appears to be retained in the future Regulation on payment services.

Prohibition of arbitration in the single energy market
