Paquete normativo de la Unión Europea sobre servicios y mercados digitales

El 15 de diciembre de 2020 la Comisión Europea ha presentado su Propuesta de Reglamento del Parlamento Europeo y del Consejo sobre el mercado único de servicios digitales (Digital Services Act), COM/2020/825 final, con la que también se pretende modificar la vigente Directiva de comercio 2000/31/CE.

Esta propuesta se acompaña de la Propuesta, también de la Comisión y de la misma fecha, del Reglamento del Parlamento Europeo y del Consejo sobre mercados competitivos y justos en el sector digital (Digital Markets Act) COM(2020) 842 final.
Ambas propuestas conforman un paquete normativo con el que se pretende establecer nuevas reglas para todos los servicios digitales, incluyendo redes sociales, webs y plataformas online que operen en la Unión Europea. En la Digital Services Act se pretende introducir un nuevo régimen de responsabilidad de los intermediarios de servicios digitales.
