Algunos extremos decisivos en la nueva Ley de Regulación del Juego

La nueva Ley de Regulación del Juego (LRJ en adelante), que acaba de ser aprobada por el Congreso de los Diputados en la sesión de 18 de mayo de 2011, tiene por objeto regular las actividades de juego de ámbito estatal, en especial las realizadas a través de medios electrónicos, informáticos o telemáticos, así como fijar un sistema de tributación sobre las mismas.1. ÁMBITO DE APLICACIÓN

La LRJ regula las actividades de juego de ámbito estatal, tanto si se prestan desdeEspaña como desde un país extranjero pero dirigidas a personas residentes en España,y tanto si se realizan de forma presencial o bien por medios electrónicos, informáticoso telemáticos. La Ley se aplica, además, a las actividades de publicidad, promoción ypatrocinio relativas a estas actividades.
