Miguel Troncoso
Miguel is a partner in the Competition and European Union Law practice and Head of the Brussels office at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo.
He specialises in competition law, with a focus on merger control, state aid and vertical restraints – commercial distribution networks-. He has extensive experience in representing before the courts of the European Union both private companies and public bodies (in particular in public procurement matters and cases pertaining to the protection of the financial interests of the Union).
He holds a law degree from the University of Navarra. He holds a master’s degree in European Law from the University of Liège. He was a collaborating scholar at the Department of Public Law of the University of Navarra. He performed a traineeship at the Directorate General for Culture and Audiovisual Policy of the European Commission.
Miguel has been highlighted in the prestigious legal directory Chambers & Partners as one of the leading practitioners in the areas of Competition/European Law – Belgium – Foreign Expertise in Spain and Corporate/M&A: Competition – Expertise Based Abroad in Spain. Additionally, he has been recognised as Highly Regarded and Leading Lawyer in recent years by IFLR 1000 for his work and extensive experience in Competition Law (Belgium and EU).
He has participated as author in several specialised legal publications and has taught EU procedural law at the training schools of the Paris and Brussels Bar Associations.
