José Luis is a senior associate in the Litigation and Arbitration practice at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo.

He is a specialist in litigation, intellectual and industrial property and cybercrime.

He has a degree and a master’s degree in law from the ESADE Law School. He completed a master’s in Intellectual Property and Information Society at ESADE, a master’s in Biotechnology, Biomedicine, and Law at UNED, and a master’s in Criminalistics with a specialization in Judicial Expertise in Intellectual and Industrial Property at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He also completed a Master’s in Cybercrime at the UOC.

In addition, he has taken several courses, such as Advanced Data Protection taught by the Barcelona Bar Association / UOC, Arbitration and Mediation in accordance with WIPO regulations, Criminal Law in New Technologies taught by the Open University of Catalonia, Judicial Expert in Industrial Property taught by the UNED, and Technology Contracts taught by the Barcelona Bar Association.

He is a speaker at conferences on intellectual property, industrial property and new technologies.

José Luis has participated as author in several specialised legal publications.

Litigation and Arbitration

I have carried out numerous transactions with Gómez-Acebo & Pombo.

GA_P advises VEGAP in its litigation against Mango for the exhibition of artworks in the metaverse, 2025 – The intellectual property and litigation team of Gómez-Acebo & Pombo represented by Anna Viladás and José Luis Amérigo has advised VEGAP (Visual Entidad de Gestión de Artistas Plásticos) in the legal proceedings against MANGO (PUNTO FA) for the unauthorised use of works by Miquel Barceló, Joan Miró and Antoni Tàpies in the metaverse, the creation of NFTs and other advertising uses, Joan Miró and Antoni Tàpies in the metaverse, the creation of NFTs and other advertising uses, obtaining a favourable ruling from the Barcelona Provincial Court that accepts all the claims of VEGAP’s lawsuit.

He joins Gómez-Acebo & Pombo in 2011.
