GA_P advises the sellers on Essential Compositions’ transfer to Riverside

Gómez-Acebo & Pombo has advised the sellers on the transfer of a majority stake in the Valencian fragrance company Essential Compositions to the US private equity firm The Riverside Company. In turn, the Catalá family reinvests and will remain a minority shareholder.

The company, founded in 1980 in Gandía, specialises in the creation and production of fragrances for air freshening, personal and home care and perfumery. Its more than 25,000 registered formulations can therefore be found in candles, mikados, creams, gels, shampoos, detergents, fabric softeners and soaps, among other products.

The GA_P team was composed by Jesús Ibáñez and Carla Sancho-Tello, the Commercial team advising on the M&A part of the transaction, Jesús Ibáñez and Esther Sanz, from Commercial, and Ángel Vaillo and Anita Ostafi, from the Valencia office, who advised on the carve-out transaction.
