Lourdes L\u00f3pez, Professor of Labour Law and Academic Adviser at G\u00f3mez-Acebo & Pombo, points out that the implementation of digital time recording represents an additional burden for companies, especially for SMEs with limited technological resources.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The royal decree being prepared by the Government will require companies to implement a digital time-tracking system, accessible to the Labour Inspectorate and workers\u2019 representatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L\u00f3pez warns about this measure: \u201cIt means adding further requirements for companies, at least in terms of possessing and using digital tools, in a business environment such as Spain\u2019s, which is largely made up of small and medium-sized enterprises, and where remote access is difficult.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new regulation, still under development, has raised concerns about data security and the financial effort it will entail for companies, in a context of rising labour costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
