Mafalda Barreto, G\u00f3mez-Acebo & Pombo Portugal’s managing partner, is optimistic about 2025, predicting a significant recovery in the mergers and acquisitions market. <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

After a slowdown in 2024, Mafalda Barreto expects that strategic sectors such as infrastructure, real estate and green energy will attract investment to the Portuguese M&A market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, she emphasises that law firms will face \u2018a combination of challenges resulting from the intensification of the regulatory context\u2019, particularly with regard to generative artificial intelligence and ESG metrics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
