\r\nAndrew Ward, until now coordinator of the Competition and EU Law Group at Cuatrecasas, is a recognised expert in merger control, antitrust investigations, risk management (including the design and implementation of compliance programmes) as well as state aid and other EU law issues.
\r\n
\r\nRecognised as Band 1 by the prestigious legal directory Chambers & Partners, as a Leading Individual in Legal500, and as a Global Elite and Thought Leader in the Who’s Who Legal rankings for Competition, Andrew has been Counsel to the Spanish Association for the Defence of Competition and is currently Officer of the Antitrust Section of the International Bar Association.
\r\n
\r\nA graduate in law from Cambridge University, he has been a Barrister of England & Wales (Lincoln’s Inn) since 1997, worked as an associate in the Brussels office of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton between 1998 and 2002 and has been admitted to practise as a solicitor in Spain since 2002.
\r\n
\r\nThis incorporation is in line with the Firm’s strategy to continue to strengthen the transactional business and provide the best advice on the most sophisticated transactions in the market. Andrew’s incorporation reinforces the Competition area led by I\u00f1igo Igartua from the Barcelona office, which also counts with Miguel Troncoso as partner and head of the Brussels office.
